I’m Ren, the face behind Tattered Silk. I’m also an artist and founder of Dark Peak Design, (that makes functional sculpture out of Jesmonite), and Saint Ivy (a clothing brand).

I live in a small town in the UK. Mud and drizzle are part of the charm.

People call me a “perpetual art student.” I don’t argue. Once, someone asked if my paint-splattered overalls were Balenciaga. They were not.
I spend my days thinking about colour, texture, and whether shoes will survive a walk in the rain. I write about this stuff sometimes. I photograph it occasionally. Mostly, I just do it.

Trends bore me. Observation doesn’t. I’m interested in quiet experiments, small rebellions, things that accumulate.

This is a space for noticing. For trying things. For acknowledging that style, creativity, and life rarely arrive neatly packaged.
